The Mark of Love - by GIUSEPPE DE ANDREIS
This is the unauthorized biography of how Esmeralda, one of the most famous African models in the 1990’s escaped from her misery and humble beginnings as the daughter of Tonya, a black slave at the infamous “Blood Diamond Mines” of Sierra Leona in Africa. After her mother’s death, she runs away from a destiny of female mutilations, hounding, persecution, hiv and torture… she becomes a victim of the horrible kidnapping of her first born by the same obsessed man who had killed her young husband and had raped her….a baby who since birth was condemned to an early grave by skin cancer, a red “mark” on his little chest… This story relates how after been rescued from the waters of the Stretch of Gibraltar, life crossed in her path fashion designer Erve, who discovered her at a local market and made her into the ”Emerald Eye Gazelle”, model who conquered the Fashion World and eventually the heart of Count Laroche with whom she had a baby girl, Savannah. We witness how history seems to repeat itself, when on a horrible night Esmeralda’s daughter is also victim of rape, by the young gardener working in their Villa… only to find out during the arresting struggle, that the criminal accused of the rape bares the same red spot on his chest as her long lost son!!! A shock which provokes a stroke paralyzing Esmeralda, rendering her unable to move or speak, she will struggle to try and share these news with anyone around her… “This story was inspired by the carnage and atrocities that many of our sisters still face around our globe, the human torture and spiritual degradation from which they struggle to escape..I hope to bring a light of hope to all of them… we must unite as humans to bring peace and dignity to all…moving towards peace and unity in the world, never letting our past dictate our future, but allowing it to complement our existence…” Giuseppe
